Gemini is helpful when prompted to use it. I found it quite helpful when asking questions about science homework or asking questions (when asked to in class) that relate to a subject we are studying in school.

Sora is helpful when used specifically for videos. Sora focuses on video/motion pictures of anything of the human mind. It serves as an output of human imagination through short or longer clips of anything. I do not personally use it (as you have to subscribe to use), but I have asked multiple people, and they find it helpful to express their creativity through it.

Miko is a toy that uses artificial intelligence through a robot to give children games, academic information, and a ‘friend’ whenever they need it. My personal opinion on it is that while the creators have good intentions, this could lead to a safety hazard. Some people are already wary of AI in general (whether ChatGPT, or Sora), and having this in their house that can physically move and interact with their children is not ideal. I know that they don’t have to purchase it, but the option and the danger is still in the world. This toy could also damage actual human relationships, as kids are now more reliant on Miko as a buddy.

ChatGPT helps me during subjects where you have to generate an image. I personally find it quite helpful, as I am less artistic and would rather not draw people or objects unless I have to. The one downside of this, is that there is a limit to how many images ChatGPT can generate. I’m pretty sure it’s around ten, but this is definitely a con, for the reason that it is hard to complete your project if you don’t have images.

aibo is an AI robot that is built in a dog shape for companionship. I personally do not like this idea, as I used to have two dogs. They weren’t from the pound, but a bunch of other dogs are, and around 1.2 million of them are ‘euthanized’ meaning that they are killed to ‘end their suffering.’ By replacing real animals with robots, we then add to the mass termination of animals in general. While the idea of a robot dog may seem quite at first, it becomes odd. The idea of something that was once real in your home, is now replaced with something cold, and automated.

This article was describing how viewers were confused and scared of a certain video of Tom Cruise battling Brad Pitt. The article described how the two began fighting each other, with the audience confused if the clip was leaked from a movie, or was generally a real life battle. 

Once people dissected the video (including myself), it became clear that the video was AI generated. Some things that immediately made audience members doubt was when Cruise pinned Pitt down. When tackling, Cruise was wearing a leather jacket, but when he held a weapon to Pitt’s head, he was wearing a short sleeved shirt. My first thought was “oh, that must have been a movie error, as some shots on some TV shows or movies appear from different angles, and sometimes the character is wearing different clothes.” It turns out that there were other signs. The video started out with Pitt fighting Cruise, but there were some other fighting scenes, including Pitt fighting a sick looking Ninja, Cruise fighting a version of himself, and then Cruise fighting a robot. The storyline was not clear, nor consistent, giving me another reason why the video was AI generated. I am deeply spooked, as I thought the video was real from just seeing these actors’ faces. This video is quite similar to Sora’s main existence/idea – making clips that seem real.

I am testing out different AI sources and will compare the diagrams to each other, and will ‘grade’ them on how easy it is to comprehend. The first test was with Gemini. Gemini was able to produce a diagram that was easy to understand, but it was not the type of braid I wanted (dragon/viking braid), and instead chose the simplistic braid instead.

I chose to test AI this way because I need to know how to do different types of hairstyles for volleyball.

I’m pretty sure it didn’t understand my prompt as well as Gemini, and instead thought I was doing a project about it, and gave me an idea of how to do a layout, instead of giving me a diagram. Right now, Gemini is in first place.

This AI generated a few images, but it was unclear about what to do. Also, there are some pieces of hair outside of the braid. The language was set in English, but it was incomprehensible and extremely hard to decipher what it meant. The scoreboard is Gemini in first, ChatGPT in second, Ecosia in third, and Deep AI in fourth.

Since we were allowed to use AI to generate some starter project ideas for our Science (tectonic plates) project, I decided to use this as a cross between the AI exploration unit and the actual Science project. I found this helpful, as it gave me information (that I double checked using the sources provided and my own research) that would be crucial to my project. It also responded to my question accurately, giving me ideas about physical project ideas I could do to explain how my location’s (the Philippines) tectonic plates works.

The Gemini Certification is to test out students on how to use AI (mainly Gemini) effectively and safely. There are 35 questions in the form of a quiz to test you on how much you learned from the previous slides and videos.

I asked Gemini “can you create an image of shakespeare, but make him wear clothing that is in the this century, but still have some traits that would let someone know immediately that he is shakespeare” and the above is the response. I asked about two-three different versions of the prompt, but it needed a bit more instruction, information, and detail before completing my vision. 

Using photos with Gemini is useful in my life for projects. I recently had to do a Socials project about Marco Polo, Ibn Battuta, and Zhang He “posting” stuff on Instagram. I found this feature of Gemini quite helpful for this project. 

This article talks about how AI is changing the world, whether for the better, or for the worse. It gives details and information that is happening without the world about AI. 
I found this article quite interesting. It describes how it is amazing how much we have excelled at evolving our healthcare system, finance, business models, etc. There is talk about the ethical and privacy problems, though. AI is incredibly helpful with facts (eg. 2+2=4), and can give a fair amount of true information (sometimes has ‘hallucinations’ which is when it doesn’t know the answer, so then creates one). The problem is how we as humans control it. As you may already know, some people are using Grok (or other AI sources) to take off women’s clothing. This is not only disturbing, and infuriating, but it defeats the purpose of what AI was made for: learning. Overall, I found this piece of news interesting to read to observe different opinions and views on this subject.

Grok is quite similar to ChatGPt, Gemini, etc; it provides knowledge. The claimed difference is that it has a distinctive personality, and a less awkward response to answering controversial questions. Since Grok was created by Elon Musk, it has direct, live access to posts on X. This allows it to identify breaking news, and trends quicker than other AI sources. I don’t personally use Grok, but I’m imagining others find it useful for a more heavy personality tool.

Tesla Optimus is a robot that was built to perform dangerous, repetitive, or boring tasks that humans would ‘prefer not to do.’

Tesla Optimus extends Tesla’s AI capabilities from vehicles to physical tasks. This is similar to AI toys (such as Miko, or aibo), but it is built to replace less enjoyable tasks. I think that this seems helpful at the moment (I don’t want to do my laundry, I don’t want to get the takeout, etc), but then ends up doing these motions and activities for us. Without having to do chores, or hardwork, we end up having a lesser purpose in life, and would only be able to do the ‘fun’ activities, giving them a less exciting energy/experience.

Similar to Tesla Optimus, Neo is built to perform tasks that humans would rather not do. Neo is built with a less intimidating appearance and a softer exterior compared to the Tesla Bot. I would much rather prefer Neo than the Tesla Bot, but I would still rather not have a robot in my house. The reason for this is because of the safety issues that it could cause. Yes, companies promise that it is programmed to obey, and that there are many security features, but there is still a chance that it could malfunction, letting something that could potentially harm you, into your house.

I enjoyed this article a lot! It was written for students who are curious and interested about AI, which is the whole point of this project. The piece describes how generative AI works! Generative AI is what many people use or think of. This includes Gemini, ChatGPT, etc. Generative AI is mainly used for LLMs, which are large language models. This means that it answers in mainly words, but still has the foundation for images, videos, or sound/music generation. This article was interesting to me because it gave different examples of how AI could be used, how it was made, and how we can evolve it.

This article refers to how AI use is in school, whether it is helpful and students should be able to access it, or how it hallucinates, and that students are banned from using it. 

This article was quite insightful and interesting about the use. It was enjoyable to read how this could affect our use of AI in schools for the future. Basically, the whole message was that AI has many pros and cons, and that it is up to the teacher to decide if it should be used in school, or not. In my opinion, I believe that AI should be used, but to an extent. As I learned in the Gemini certification, AI can be quite helpful if used correctly. This means that you can definitely ask questions, or prompts like “help me generate some starter ideas for my Science project” or “help me understand this math question better.”
