AI Email Polishing
Description – Using AI to revise and improve emails, making them clearer, more professional, concise, or polite without changing the core message. Or giving AI a prompt and completely letting it generate a professional email for the user.
Discussion – I use ChatGPT to polish a lot of my emails. To write a professional email, there are a lot of rules that need to be followed which at times can be very confusing. AI is the perfect tool to use. You just need to describe the main idea of your email and it will just write a professional and appropriate email for you that you can just copy paste and send.
AI Study Buddy
Description – An AI tool or chatbot that helps with studying by answering questions, explaining concepts, quizzing you, suggesting study strategies, and tracking progress.
Discussion – I personally use AI to study French but I know a lot of my classmates use it to study math. As sometimes complicated ideas might not be explained very clearly in class, students can go home and ask the remaining questions they have with AI which has all the patience in the world to answer any question you have. AI is also an expert at almost all subjects, making it your perfect study buddy.
AI sports analysis
Description – AI systems that analyze athletic performance and game data to provide insights, trends, predictions, and strategy suggestions for teams or individual athletes.
Discussion – Sport games like basketball can produce a huge amount of data and statistics that can at times be too much for people to analyze and that’s exactly where AI can help.
AI Grammar correction(Grammerly)
Description – AI tools that detect and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and writing style issues in text (e.g., Grammarly, built-in document editors).
Discussion – AI tools like Grammarly can help correct the grammar or spelling mistakes people make in their documents but some people misuse the AI built-ins meant to correct mistakes, instead they completely let the AI write their documents. But I personally don’t like to use AI for this, Word already has a function to fix your mistakes.
AI brainstorming
Description – Using AI to generate ideas, topics, concepts, outlines, or creative inspiration for projects, writing, art, business, etc.
Discussion – Human minds are limited and even though I am quite creative, I still like using AI to help me brainstorm ideas. Even though the quality of the ideas differ a lot, it can still at times come up with pretty good ideas for my projects.
AI use for finding sources, researching and citation
Description – AI assistant used to locate academic or credible information sources, summarize them, and create accurate citations (APA/MLA/Chicago).
Discussion – Even though Google is a nice source-finding browser, AI can read the documents and then pick the parts that are relevant. Researching with AI is also very easy as you just need to give them an instruction prompt. Also, even though there are citation tools, AI can cite it after it finishes research, so you don’t have to open multiple tabs.
Translation and language studies
Description – AI-powered translation services or language learning support tools that convert text between languages or help with vocabulary and grammar learning.
Discussion – Even though there are translators, they are not as helpful when someone is trying to study a language. I use ChatGPT to study french, not only does it translate it for me, it also teaches it to me:)
Summarizing long articles
Description – AI summarization tools that take long documents or articles and produce concise summaries capturing the main points, helping the user understand the article.
Discussion – Sometimes long articles can be very boring and time consuming to read, so from time to time I reach out to my personal AI assistant Shai and ask him to summarize the articles–long or short.
Make powerpoints(Gamma AI)
Description – AI tools that help create slide presentations by generating content, layouts, images, and structure from prompts or outlines.
Discussion – Making presentations is quite hard and time consuming especially for someone like me who isn’t very artistic, it is quite difficult for me to design the slides. AI Powerpoint makers like Gamma AI are extremely good at making presentations. I tried one myself, and it worked like magic!
Personal trainer
Description – AI applications that create customized exercise routines, track workouts, suggest progressions, and set goals based on fitness level.
Discussion – Instead of going to gyms and paying expensive memberships, I generate personalized workout plans using AI that costs absolutely nothing and is extremely effective.
Therapist
Description – AI chatbots designed for emotional support, reflective conversations, coping strategies, and mental wellness guidance.
Discussion – Even though therapists are extremely helpful and essential for people struggling with mental health, AI can be an extremely helpful alternative. Your chat with AI is kept confidential so you can really say what you want and be vulnerable. Also, AI is great at encouraging people and providing emotional support as well.
AI coding(Cursor)
Description – Using AI tools to help write, debug, explain, or optimize computer code across different programming languages.
Discussion – Coding a game you like might require you 10 years of learning how to code in the past, but right now you just need to know how to give good prompts and AI will take care of writing that 10000 lines of code for you. It saves so much time but It might take over a lot of software engineers’ jobs and create an overreliance.(people don’t want to learn coding anymore!)
Gemini
Description – Gemini is a generative artificial intelligence chatbot and virtual assistant developed by Google.
Discussion – Gemini is just an omniscient AI model that is strong in all aspects. It is created by google, meaning that it will have all the data from google’s search engine to feed it. Gemini also has some of the most elite AI engineers in the world to help improve it. I personally don’t use Gemini a lot because it is not as good at writing as ChatGPT.
ChatGPT
Description – ChatGPT is an AI model developed by OpenAI, aimed to follow an instruction in a prompt and provide a detailed response.
Discussion – ChatGPT is the first AI model that I have heard of, as it went viral in 2022, for a good reason. It is extremely good at writing essays and English. I use it a lot to polish emails and as a study buddy, but I did observe it having some hallucinations when I asked it about basketball cards which is indeed a very niche topic.
NanoBanana
Description – NanoBanana is Google’s high-speed AI image generation model designed for rapid, interactive editing and high-fidelity text rendering. It specializes in modifying existing images through natural language prompts, enabling precise edits, style transfers, and in-image localization.
Discussion – NanoBanana can generate realistic images and even turn your images into moving videos based on the prompt you give. I created some very creative images and videos. Overall a very fun tool
deepseek
Description – Deepseek AI is an AI model created by a Chinese artificial intelligence research company that focuses on advanced search, semantic understanding, multimedia retrieval, or research assistance.
Discussion – Deepseek is made from China! It is super cheap to run and build compared to other models. The one big advantage it has is that Deepseek shows you the full process of how the model got the answer that you receive, making it especially good at explaining Math problems.
OpenClaw AI
Description – OpenClaw is an open-source autonomous AI assistant that runs on your own computer or server and can perform tasks like managing emails, running scripts, or automating workflows. Unlike normal chatbots, it can take real actions on your device using large language models.
Discussion – OpenClaw AI might be what AI will ultimately become: your ‘AI Assistant’ that really helps you manage everything or even a step further, taking over all your jobs. But as of right now, the technology is still quite undeveloped and young. There is multiple news of peoples’ important files or codes getting deleted by Openclaw.
FSD driving systems
Description – Full self-driving car systems use cameras, sensors, and artificial intelligence to perceive the environment and make driving decisions so a vehicle can navigate roads with little or no human input.
Discussion – My Dad’s tesla has the FSD function and it is quite mindblowing. Even though Tesla still requires drivers to hold the steering wheel, the car has no problem navigating all kinds of roads. Even though there are some minor problems like random stops beside the road when it’s confused, the technology is quite safe and trustworthy to use.
AI in war
Description – AI in war refers to the use of artificial intelligence to analyze battlefield data, support military decisions, and power systems such as surveillance, cyber defense, or autonomous equipment.
Discussion – In the recent Iranian war, artificial intelligence has been used a lot, and it’s one of the first ‘AI wars’. It was used to analyze surveillance data, identify targets, and guide drones or missiles much faster than human analysts alone. AI systems can process huge amounts of satellite images and communications data to recommend strike targets or assess damage after attacks, which is usually all done in milliseconds, way faster than human.

I coded with cursor an AI powered garbage classification system that can connect with the device's camera and help sort trash into the correct category in real time.
